hopefully i'll be moving out by the end of the year, & we'll be decorating on a pretty tight budget [depending on our jobs]. we don't need to buy much right away; we've got a bed, couches, some furniture. . . there isn't much we need to buy, just a kitchen table & whatnot, & i have a lot of cookware & crap that people gave me when i graduated from high school [i was like "whoa! wait a minute! i'm not moving out into my own place anytime soon, i don't need this stuff yet!" but, now it'll come in handy when i move out]
luckily i have lots of artsy stuff that we can hang all over the place to take up empty space on the walls [my paintings plus the ones i've done i've done for andy & my photos & whatnot].
i just hope everything gets straightened out soon so we can both get out of our crappy living situations & have a place of our own that will actually feel like home. neither of us can stand it much longer :\

Great post! When decorating my apartment, having a budget is pretty important. This post has inspired me to try to be more creative with what I have already (and maybe make a few more cheap purchases).
I just heard that Threadbanger.com has a new video series with tips to DIY decorate your apartment on the cheap. It's worth checking out!

Thanks, Dollface! (Hee, that was fun to type!)
It's so easy to just spend spend spend while decorating because the home is so personal, you know? I love seeing creative little touches and innovative uses of otherwise ordinary objects. I use my old steamer trunk as a kitchen table!
I'll definitely give threadbanger a look, thanks so much for the link!
